Sound belongs to the realm of the invisible; painting, to that of silence. A tension as complex as it is powerful arises between these two dimensions, namely the possibility of a dialogue between what is heard and what is seen. In the words of Pascal Quignard, hearing and sight form a “shamanic pair”: “the singer and the seer”, “the thunder and the lightning”.
