The Nordic Walking programme run by Palma City Council’s Municipal Sports Institute (IME) is offering a series of free sessions during July to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. The programme is organised around three themes (Nature, Health and Sport) allowing each participant to choose an activity suited to their interests and fitness level. The new sessions added to the programme are as follows:
This initiative offers significant benefits for both physical health and emotional wellbeing. The activities included in these sessions work many of the body’s muscles, help improve cardiovascular fitness, posture and mobility, and offer other benefits. As low-impact activities, they are suitable for people of different ages. They also provide valuable emotional and psychological support, as the outdoor activities enable participants to be in contact with nature, while the group activities encourage social interaction. Together, these activities help support a lifestyle centred on physical activity and wellbeing.
