The Church of Glass

Nuestra señora de los Ángeles

The Porciúncula church, better known as ‘the Church of Glass’, is a spectacle of light and colour. This is because of the old style stained-glass windows that can be glimpsed already from the outside, separated by concrete ribs that give the building a unique appearance. The grey concrete exterior contrasts with the kaleidoscope of light that floods the inside of the church.

Another reason to visit is the small archaeological and ethnographic museum made up of private collections and those of the Franciscan missionaries themselves. Without a doubt, La Porciúncula is one of the main heritage attractions in the Palma Beach area.
