The Museum of Mallorca - A centre for the dissemination of knowledge and learning

Archaeology, ethnography and decorative and industrial arts

The state-owned Museum of Mallorca has several exhibits on archaeology, fine arts, and decorative and industrial arts from the 13th to the 20th century. It is also a scientific and cultural centre which aims to satisfy the investigative, educational and inquisitive needs of its diverse range of users.

The Museum of Mallorca is also open to scientific research, study and enquiries, as well as learning, exploration, discovery and pleasure, all of which is included in a framework of the history, art and culture of the island of Mallorca.

A special mention should go to the building hosting the museum: The Palace of the Counts of Ayamans, commonly known as “Can Desbrull” or even “Ca la Gran Cristiana”. After major renovation works, this building is worth seeing on its own.
