HISTORY OF THE WORK

The Phantom of the Opera was first published in 1910 as a novel by the French writer Gaston Leroux. This story is inspired by legendary tales and rumours that spread about the Palais Garnier in Paris. Over time, the story was adapted for theatre, cinema and, most notably, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical (1986). The musical turned the play into a worldwide phenomenon. They will be touring throughout Spain during the 2025–2026 season. Don’t miss them when they come to Palma!

SHORT SYNOPSIS

At the Paris Opera, a young singer named Christine Daaé begins to rise to fame thanks to the advice of a mysterious figure who lives hidden beneath the theatre: the Phantom. He is a musical genius with a disfigured face who becomes obsessively enamoured with her. While Christine is torn between her secret mentor and her childhood sweetheart, Raoul, the Phantom unleashes a series of disturbing incidents. These events combine passion, jealousy and tragedy, revealing that even in the darkest corners, there can be a heart that only seeks to be loved.
