Since September 2009, weather permitting, on the last Saturday of each month at 12:00 noon (except in August and December), the famous Changing of the Honor Guard takes place in front of the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, performed by soldiers of the Palma 47 Light Infantry Regiment.

The uniqueness of this event lies in the soldiers’ historical uniforms: until 2018 they wore the outfits of the volunteer corps created in 1808, and since 2019, they wear uniforms reproducing those of the Spanish Infantry of King Charles III. This ceremony recalls the old guard changes of the Palace, when it was the official residence of the Viceroys of Mallorca.

In 2025, the ceremony will be held on: January 25, February 22, March 29, April 26, May 31, June 28, July 26, September 27, October 25 and November 29.
