SUMMARY:MANERAS DE FIJAR EL TIEMPO - CLARA CARVAJAL AND CASA PLANAS
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition features an art installation by Clara Carvajal in collaboration with Casa Planas at Casal Solleric. \nThe artist’s proposal connects stone and photography as ways of capturing an eternal and immutable instant. The exhibition also explores time as a properly human perception that does not affect these elements at all. Another theme explored in the exhibition is the impact of tourism on the region and the changes it brings. \nVenue: Aljub\, Casal Solleric.

SUMMARY:DONNA FERRATO - HOLY
DESCRIPTION:Donna Ferrato’s exhibition Holy explores the female body as an intimate\, sacred and also political space. \nAfter decades of documenting gender-based violence\, patriarchal power structures and intimacy as a space of conflict\, the author reclaims the body as a place of strength\, autonomy and presence. The series challenges traditional ideas of holiness\, often linked to submission and silence\, and focuses on desire\, vulnerability and resistance. Far from embellishing trauma\, her images draw from personal experience to construct a powerful visual statement. Holy posits two issues: who defines what is sacred\, and how. This is how it puts forward a spirituality rooted in lived experience\, freedom and everyday life.

SUMMARY:Eva Lootz - Lo tengo en la punta de la lengua
DESCRIPTION:Eva Lootz is a trailblazing artist known for using natural and industrial materials to explore physical\, sensory\, and symbolic processes. Everything is connected: art\, language\, body\, ecology and science. Her artwork does not provide clear-cut interpretations. In fact\, it encourages viewers to find their own meanings in unexpected\, fragmented and unspoken elements\, challenging traditional forms of knowledge. \nIn Lo tengo en la punta de la lengua (It’s on the tip of my tongue)\, Eva Lootz explores the limits of language\, examining what cannot be named\, what is forgotten or trapped between the body and words. The exhibition transforms the space into a sensory realm. Voices\, whispers\, sounds\, everyday objects and materials such as lime\, tin\, wool and felt are related to organs\, prostheses and gestures to release language from its representative function. \nThe works evoke voids\, interruptions and fractures of knowledge in a world saturated with information\, giving shape to the unspeakable\, the excluded and the incomprehensible. Noteworthy pieces include Lengua de cal (Lime Tongue) and Que cada dolor diga su nombre (Let Every Pain Speak Its Name)\, made with Majorcan lime\, a material steeped in historical and symbolic memory that\, as it cracks and is pierced by words\, connects body\, matter and language. \nThe exhibition therefore offers a poetic and critical experience where meaning is not given\, but emerges from fragility\, instability and the unexpected\, opening up new ways of thinking about knowledge\, art and reality. \nOpening hours:\n\n· Tuesday to Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.\n· Sundays and public holidays: 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

SUMMARY:Rumores infundados. Javier y Rafa Forteza
DESCRIPTION:CaixaForum Palma hosts the first joint exhibition of Javier and Rafa Forteza\, two creators who\, from distinct yet parallel paths\, explore the limits of the image\, the enigma of the face\, and the power of abstraction. \nTheir works reveal androgynous faces and ambiguous forms that invite introspection\, balancing between pain and calm\, memory and suggestion. While Javier presents mobile faces charged with emotion\, Rafa crystallizes matter on abstract surfaces where raw canvas and repetition become poetic language. SUMMARY:Sandra Cinto. Preludio para el sol y las estrellas
DESCRIPTION:“Prelude for the Sun and the Stars” transforms Es Baluard Museu’s Espacio C into an immersive space where time\, matter\, and perception intertwine. Sandra Cinto creates an expanded landscape through drawing\, line\, and rhythm\, inviting reflection and contemplation. \nThe site-specific installation unfolds across three interconnected spaces: monumental fabrics evoking the seven seas\, a golden mural suggesting a boundless metaphysical landscape\, and a dark blue mural fostering introspection. Drawing becomes an emotional architecture\, with light and water as metaphors of time\, generating a multisensory experience that links the intimate\, cosmic\, and collective dimensions. Brazilian artist Sandra Cinto offers a poetic and symbolic refuge\, inviting the viewer on a reflective and immersive journey.

SUMMARY:Elisa Braem. Nos encontramos en la noche
DESCRIPTION:“Nos encontramos en la noche” invites visitors to explore the sculptural universe of Elisa Braem\, characterized by experimentation with clay\, enamel\, wood\, and metal. The exhibition integrates animal\, plant\, and human forms with natural and architectural elements\, creating a symbiosis that reflects the human connection to the environment. \nThrough a poetic and philosophical language\, Braem’s sculptures link the terrestrial with the universal\, exploring themes such as nature\, light\, the sky\, and the fragmentation of territory. Her practice emphasizes the relationship between concept and gesture\, and how clay becomes a metaphor for time\, memory\, and interacting forces. The exhibition at Es Baluard offers a sensory and reflective journey through material and form.

SUMMARY:Grip Face. «Utopía del Lodo y Sashimi de Bruma»
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition at Fundación Miró in Palma features “Grip Face\,” an installation of twelve suspended sculptures representing masks hanging from thorn ropes\, arranged in the shape of the European Union symbol. This artwork questions Europe’s pacifist identity and its ambiguous role in armed conflicts\, showing fragmented figures that can be read as symbols of resistance or protective amulets. Inspired by bombings in children’s areas in Gaza and Ukraine\, the installation uses still swings hung from thorns to highlight childhood vulnerability during wartime. The Espai Cúbic becomes a space inviting thoughtful reflection on European identity\, collective memory\, and the fragility of contemporary peace.

SUMMARY:Mabi Revuelta. «La máscara habitada»
DESCRIPTION:The Inhabited Mask depicts an intimate connection between two characters\, Joan and Ninna\, who wander through Joan Miró’s most enchanting studio at Son Boter\, embarking on a mythical journey through the rooms of the house. These figures appear to exist in a suspended state of consciousness\, offering the world their profound and generous vision. Contemporary dancer Pilar Andrés (Ninna) performs alongside the voices of Gabriel Ocina (Joan) and Ena Fernández (Ninna)\, crafting a unique narrative that blends dance\, film\, photography\, and sculpture. This work is part of the audiovisual series La stanza dipinta\, created by Mabi Revuelta during her residency at the Spanish Academy in Rome in 2023\, filmed at archaeological sites such as the Etruscan necropolis of Banditaccia and the villas of Pompeii. The films reflect on archaeological heritage\, the artistic legacy of mural paintings\, and a poetic exploration of the spaces housing them.

SUMMARY:Paysage Miró: El color i la seva ombra
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition Paysage Miró. Colour and Its Shadow invites visitors to immerse themselves in the creative world of Joan Miró through the interplay between his paintings and sculptures. The selection includes bronze sculptures\, paintings\, and works on paper\, offering a non-linear journey through his artistic evolution. \nSpecial focus is placed on his sculptural work from the 1960s onwards\, featuring totemic figures and assemblages made from found objects—reflecting his fascination with folk art and the primitive. These works are paired with paintings that evoke mystery\, symbolism\, and ancestral themes. \nThis exhibition is part of Paysage Miró\, a collaborative project with the Reina Sofía Museum\, shown across four major contemporary art venues in Palma: La Llotja\, Es Baluard Museum\, Fundació Miró Mallorca and Casal Solleric. Each space offers a unique perspective\, forming a shared artistic landscape.

SUMMARY:Paysage Miró: The Magic Spark
DESCRIPTION:Palma transforms into an authentic Miró landscape: the places that marked Joan Miró’s first artistic steps during his childhood now serve as the setting for a grand celebration of his legacy. \n“The Magic Spark” is the centerpiece of an ambitious project titled Paysage Miró\, developed in collaboration with the Reina Sofía National Museum and Successió Miró. This initiative brings together four key contemporary art spaces in Palma\, each offering a unique perspective on the artist’s work: \n\n\nLa Llotja\, where you can admire his imposing bronze sculptures with dark patinas\, full of solemnity. \n\n\nEs Baluard Museum\, highlighting Miró’s revolutionary spirit and his significance as a pioneering figure in contemporary painting. \n\n\nCasal Solleric\, which delves into the dialogue between painting and sculpture within the artist’s creative universe. \n\n\nFundación Pilar and Joan Miró Mallorca\, a place closely connected to their life and artistic work on the island. \n\n\nTogether\, these institutions weave a shared experience: a broad and enriching vision of Miró’s world\, where Palma becomes the grand stage for his art.

SUMMARY:The shadow of the sun
DESCRIPTION:On July 9th at 7:00 p.m.\, the Center for Military History and Culture will host the opening of the traveling exhibition “The Shadow of the Sun\,” a collection of large-format images that reflect\, from a deeply human perspective\, the experience of Barceló Foundation aid workers and volunteers in Africa. \nRather than focusing on the technical aspects of the projects on the ground\, this exhibition focuses on the emotional and personal dimension of those who take part in these solidarity initiatives. Each photograph reveals fragments of life\, encounters\, and emotions\, revealing the human impact of international cooperation. \nInspired by the narrative spirit of Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuściński (1932–2007)\, whose chronicles on Africa are already benchmarks of committed journalism\, the exhibition offers a sensitive\, intimate\, and reflective look at the continent. The images\, guided by his words\, convey stories of resilience\, dignity\, and hope. \nVisitors to the exhibition will be able to experience the daily reality of the African communities with which the Foundation works. Through this visual window\, visitors will discover not only the cultural and scenic richness of Africa\, but also the value of human encounters\, beyond borders. \n“The Shadow of the Sun” will be open to the public from July 9 to 26\, 2025\, at the Center for Military History and Culture (C/ San Miguel 69\, Palma)\, Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.\, and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. \nAn opportunity to pause\, look\, and reflect on the transformative power of human commitment.
