DESCRIPTION:Pilar Juncosa\, the partner of Joan Miró\, was an important figure in the life of the Catalan painter. \nAware of the role she played in his life\, the Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation decided to pay tribute to her by naming the Foundation’s library the Biblioteca Pilar Juncosa. Furthermore\, her profile was added to Wikipedia with the aim of increasing the number of entries about women in the Balearic Islands. The project was led by the Biblioteca de Cort\, as part of the March 8th celebrations. It was the Biblioteca Pilar Juncosa\, together with her family and the entity Successió Miró\, who drafted and added the profile of Joan Miró’s wife to Wikipedia.     \nPilar Juncosa played a fundamental role\, not only in Joan Miró’s life but also in his work. For this reason\, as a continuation of the well-deserved tribute\, the Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation has added a permanent exhibition in her honour.  \n* The exhibition is located in the Biblioteca Pilar Juncosa\, accessible on the first floor of the Moneo Building at the Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation. \nVisiting hours:\n\nMonday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.\n\n* Tuesday\, Wednesday\, and Thursday also from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:The friendship between Ignacio Zuloaga and Hermen Anglada-Camarasa is reflected in the letters they exchanged over the years. These writings offer a deeper insight into their work and their vision of art. They first met at the 1900 Paris Exposition\, where they were already making a name for themselves as artists. From then on\, they maintained a friendship characterised by regular meetings and constant correspondence. In their letters\, they shared opinions\, advice\, and reflections on the creative process and their personal lives.     \nThis exhibition brings together twenty-four works\, twelve by each painter\, allowing visitors to compare their artistic similarities and differences. Both depicted popular themes in Paris at the time\, such as female models (majas)\, gypsy women\, and landscapes\, and both were influenced by impressionism and post-impressionism. SUMMARY:Jai de Nadal: Traditional Nativity Scene Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:A well-established Christmas event in Palma is the Jai de Nadal organised by the Cultura Militar de Baleares (Balearic Military Culture)\, on Calle Sant Miquel. An exhibition featuring more than 1\,100 nativity scenes\, four large nativity scenes\, a display of convent pastries and crafts\, a model train\, and\, with children in mind\, another locomotive with toy figures\, opened on Friday afternoon\, 11 December.  \n  \nPilar and Carolina Vázquez have spent four days setting up their exhibition of traditional Mallorcan nativity scenes\, featuring over 1\,100 cribs from 59 countries and 30 Spanish provinces. “I enjoy putting up and taking down the nativity scenes”\, explained Pilar\, who is the collector of the two sisters and current president of the Francesc Rosselló Nativity Scene Association (Agrupació de Betlemistes Francesc Rosselló). The Jai de Nadal is now in its fourteenth year\, and the Vázquez sisters have been organising their exhibition since 2019. It includes all kinds of nativity scenes: made from bobbin lace\, driftwood\, candle carvings\, stone imitating wood\, and more.  \n  \nThe Jai de Nadal can be visited free of charge until 3 January\, with the exception of the confectionery exhibition\, which will end on 23 December.

DESCRIPTION:Andrea Canepa is an artist who was born in Lima in 1980\, and whose work explores the relationship between the body\, movement\, and architecture. Her exhibition “CAPFICO” is on display at Casal Solleric\, Palma’s most prominent contemporary art space.   \nThe CAPFICO exhibition features an art installation that interacts with this historic building’s courtyard and decorative elements. The centrepiece is a suspended structure designed specifically for this exhibition space. Visitors are invited to walk through it and experience the space with their bodies.   \nThe project also includes a video-recorded performance and a sound composition\, which enhance the installation’s sensory experience. CAPFICO encourages visitors to reflect on movement\, perception and the relationship between people and the architecture of the space.

SUMMARY:Artist Fiona Rae exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Vista is the first solo exhibition in Spain by leading contemporary abstract British artist Fiona Rae. The exhibition will be on display in Room C at Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani in Palma. It will feature a representative selection of works created by the artist over the last three decades.
