The towns in eastern Mallorca are special thanks to their combination of tradition and modernity, portrayed through architectural and artistic heritage with excellent museums and art galleries. Good examples of this are Artà, Capdepera (with its picture postcard hilltop walls), Felanitx (the birthplace of the great Miquel Barceló) and Santanyí.
