Palau March - A flagship library
The Palau March, very close to the Palace of La Almudaina and the cathedral, has what is considered to be the library with the best information on the Balearic Islands on the island of Mallorca. The building, found in one of Palma’s most fashionable districts, is also the current headquarters of the Bartolomé March Foundation, historical patron of the island. Another treasure from this museum is the Neapolitan nativity scene from the 18th century.
The tour, open to the public, reveals part of the palace, as well as the mural paintings created by Josep Maria Sert (Barcelona, 1874-1945) to decorate the vault of the staircase and the music room. It also includes some special views of the Cathedral of Mallorca, the Jardines del Rey (The King’s Gardens) and the Passeig des Born.
