Courtyards and mansions
Can Bordils - Recovery in style
The building is home to the Palma Municipal Archive
Welcome to one of the oldest mansions in Palma, built in the 13th century on foundations dating from the Moorish period. It has undergone various renovations but what has remained is the scent of local history, of a house with weight, with roots. The first of the reforms on Can Bordils was carried out in the 16th century by the Sureda family, whose coat of arms can be seen in the windows of the studies and on one of the arches.
The mansion as a whole was renovated in the 19th and 20th centuries. It original appearance was recovered through a project carried out by the architect Miquel Vicens for the headquarters of the Palma Municipal Archive.
