Museum of Sacred Art of Mallorca
The Museum of Sacred Art of Mallorca (MASM) stands as a living space accessible to all members of society. Through the ancient stones composing its walls, the figures depicted in the exhibited artworks, and the messages conveyed by numerous artists, the Museum unveils the essence of our history, culture, tradition, and spirituality.
The MASM is housed within the Bishop's Palace, the residence of the Bishop of Mallorca. It is a beautiful medieval building, whose construction commenced in the 13th century by the sea.
A visit to the Museum provides the opportunity to explore sections of this remarkable building, whose construction began over 700 years ago. Within its walls, you will encounter a captivating collection, featuring masterpieces such as the altarpiece of St. George, the tomb of King James II of Mallorca or the renowned Drac de na Coca. All these treasures are showcased in a modernised and educational setting that not only encourages learning but also fosters a culture of inclusivity.
Do not miss the chance during your visit to marvel at the spectacular sundial in the courtyard and the Gothic portal of the former oratory of San Pablo.
