Castillo San Carlos Museum - Military history and its legacy
Cannon batteries from the Civil War and all kinds of weapons in a former defensive fortress
Just a few steps from the symbolic Porto Pi lighthouse, and not far from the famous Palacio de Marivent (Marivent Palace) and its gardens, this museum is in a perfect location for family visits. Nestled in one of Palma’s old defensive forts, the Castillo de San Carlos (San Carlos Castle) exhibits wartime and military artefacts from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
Outside, imposing cannon batteries from the Spanish Civil War can be seen from the bay. A unique, off-the-beaten-track visit for those who want a deeper insight into Palma’s history.
