Barrier-free city maps with visual and haptic representation of content and information, and Map's Voice.
Discover the city's tourist routes with city maps that can be perceived visually and haptically while providing access to Map's Voice technology.
For each of the four routes - Palma Alta, Palma Baja, Santa Catalina, and Cala Major - a special city map has been developed that can be carried with you at all times, making it easy for people with different degrees of visual impairment to follow these routes.
These city maps contain visually perceptible information, which is also presented in a relief-like structure. In addition, the contents are printed in Braille, allowing for tactile perception. This allows information to be perceived both visually and tactually, promoting interaction. Besides, additional means of cognitive and auditory perception have also been used to facilitate understanding for all users. Thanks to these special elements of this barrier-free city map, foreigners, elderly people, and children can become familiar with it.
With Map's Voice technology, you can be guided along the four routes - Palma Alta, Palma Baja, Santa Catalina, and Cala Major - and learn interesting facts about each sight in high-contrast text or audio format in Catalan, Spanish, English, and German. Click on this link to access the platform and view all the interesting features of this city map.
To obtain a visually and haptically perceptible city map, simply visit a tourist office in Palma and request one.
